The majority of Kowen forest is
pine plantation, participants will get to explore pockets of forest at var
ious stages of growth, each providing different navigational challenges. Yo
u will also find pockets of native eucalypt forest that are mostly clear un
der foot. Blackberries are present in many of the watercourses.\n
Steep cli
mbs reward participants with expansive views over the forest and towards Ca
 nberra.\n
Some areas of recent clearing or planting will be out of bounds.
These will be clearly marked on the map and participants are permitted to u
se the fire trails around (and between) out of bound lots.\n
In addition to
the network of fire trails, many mountain bike tracks cross the course. Yo
ur course setters have tried to ensure that those tracks marked on the map
accurately reflect the track on the ground, however we have not marked all
tracks and you will likely stumble upon small trails of various condition t
 hat have not been marked.\n
Entries cost $36 full and $28 concession. Under
14 free. No solo entries for this event - teams of 2 to 5 people.\n
Entrie
s close midnight Wednesday 28 August 2024. A $10 per person late fee applie
 s from Sunday 25 August 2024.\n
Camping is available at the Hash House site
on the Saturday night, for an additional cost of $11.50. The Bungendore Ru
ral Fire Brigate are generously providing catering for the end of the Satur

Sunday morning so please be self-sufficient if camping.\n
