DESCRIPTION:The ACT Champs returned to a favourite area last used for the ACT Champs in
2012 and Australian Champs in 2017 with our star course setters Jean Dougl
ass and Ron Simpson. \n
It was about 75 minutes to drive to the HH area fro
m central Canberra, mostly on sealed Monaro Highway with the last 5 kms on
a good gravel road.\n
The area is mostly very open going with dry eucalypt
forest cover. The elevation goes from 800m to 1,090m with mostly gradual hi
lls. The course area is almost scrub free except for some larger creeks and
it is easily avoided. Most of the area is privately owned yet not farmed.
There are some old gold diggings and firetrails cross the course. The lando
wners have been very generous in allowing this event. There is free campin
g at the Hash House site on Lyn and Lucky's property (our very favourite la
ndowners). Registration will open at 9am on Saturday 20th April and both th
e 24hr and 8hr events will be a mass start at midday. \n
It was also Barkl
ey the koala's 12th birthday. Catering was ACTRA managed, and we haven't d
one it for many years. A big thanks to people who did the 8 hour event and
helped with catering for the 24 hour teams.\n

Entries cost $60 full and
$47 concession. Under 14 free. No solo entries for this event - teams of 2
to 5 people.\n
Camping was available at the Hash House site on private pro
perty on both the Friday and Saturday nights. Catering was not be available
on the Friday night or Saturday morning.\n
